Solutions for Convenience Store Refrigerated Display Cases Not Cooling

Many fruit shops may encounter situations where their refrigerated fruit display cases are not cooling. In such cases, we can try to resolve the problem ourselves, avoiding the need for a repairman and saving money. Here are some troubleshooting steps from Shenzhen Jianaihua Refrigeration Equipment:

1. Open the refrigerated fruit display case door and check if the interior light is on. If it is, then wiring issues are not the problem. If the light is off, use a test pen or multimeter to check if the power outlet has power and if the power plug for upright refrigeration units has a good connection.

2. If the wiring is fine, use a multimeter to check if the voltage of the refrigeration unit is below 187 volts. Since refrigeration units are manufactured according to the national standard voltage of 187V-242V (unless otherwise specified by the manufacturer), the compressor of the refrigerated fruit display case cannot start properly if the voltage is below 187 volts.

3. Next, check if the ambient temperature is lower than the start temperature of the refrigeration unit's temperature controller. If it is, check if the temperature compensation switch of the refrigeration unit is turned on. However, when the ambient temperature is too low, the temperature controller will only be forced to start if the temperature compensation switch is turned on. If you don't turn it on, the compressor won't start, thus failing to reach the required temperature, or even stopping cooling altogether.

4. If the compressor is running continuously but still doesn't cool, it may have reached the refrigerant's maximum cooling temperature. This phenomenon often occurs in frost-free fruit refrigerators. It's usually because the evaporator or defroster in the refrigerator compartment is faulty, causing ice blockage. It could also be a faulty fan, unable to deliver cold air properly. Also, check if the refrigerator is clogged with too many items, blocking the air vents and causing poor cooling.

5. If it's a direct-cooling fruit refrigerator, since the refrigerator temperature automatically adjusts to the freezer temperature, if it's not cooling, try lowering the freezer temperature to see if the refrigerator temperature is within the normal 4-10 degrees Celsius range. Note that a higher number on the temperature controller indicates a lower temperature; use higher numbers in summer and lower numbers in winter. Frequent opening of the refrigerator door and a large number of items inside can also cause the water cooler to not cool or have poor cooling performance.
